Peter Sachon, founder of SailTauk, is a USCG-licensed captain and sailor who has called Montauk home for years. With over a decade of sailing experience and four seasons as a charter captain and ASA 101 instructor for Sail Montauk, he knows these waters intimately.

A professional cellist by trade, Peter has enjoyed a distinguished career performing on Broadway (Fiddler on the Roof, South Pacific, The Light In The Piazza, Pippin, and many more), touring with Pink Martini and Five For Fighting, and collaborating with artists such as James Taylor and Audra McDonald. He brings the same passion and precision from the concert stage to the deck of a sailboat—creating safe, fun, and personalized sailing experiences for every guest.

Living in Montauk, Peter is thrilled to share his deep love for the ocean and sailing through SailTauk private charters. He is also the founder of the Montauk Chamber Orchestra.
